Camp

The name of the race is 24 Hours in the Enchanted Forest. Although after a pre-ride on Thursday, I’d say it’s more like a dust cloud than an enchanted forest!

Since I took it easy in the 24 hours of ERock 2 weeks ago, I feel apt to ride another 24 hour race. So I signed up for this one. We’ll see if that is actually a good idea or not.

I left by 5;30am in order to beat Denver traffic. It was either that or wait until 8 or so, which wouldn’t give me enough time to pre-ride on Thursday. I’ve found in my limited experience that I do best pre-riding 2 days in advance (and not powering through the climbs), and taking Friday off to fully rest. So 5:30 it is! But without stopping along the way except for gas and bathrooms, I was exhausted upon arrival. I took a 30 minute nap.
