Race day

There were 12 women in the solo division, and I desperately wanted to make the top 10. I actually held a small hope in my heart that I would get on the podium, in the top-3. It was possible, but I held first and second place for Pua Sawicki and Jari Kirkland – two amazing women who are first place champions who can beat most of the men in these races. That left me to fight for third.

7th at Nationals for 24 hours Moab (Part 1)

I’ve always been a big fan of competition, and watching eco-challenge and the Speights Coast-to-Coast (New Zealand) adventure races made me realize not only how amazing it would be to accomplish such feats, but also that the field of women in such endurance races were limited. Less women means better odds of winning, as in the Speights Coast-to-Coast only 7 women finished – a feat in and of itself as a true accomplishment.
